Leros

We went to Leros and did a long and scenic walk, taking lots of photos, to some windmills on the way to a castle which we also went to.  When we got down we saw a shop with lots of  delicious looking food.

Kalimnos

In Kalimnos we landed in port Vathy and ate dinner in a restaurant run by an Australian lady. We explored while waiting for dinner and found seven cats in a group trying to eat people’s food. One of the seven cats went up to my brother and put its two paws on his cheeks then came to me and rolled around on my lap.

Kos

We went to a castle and saw statues of the Greek gods then we went to some hot springs and I rode a donkey on the way out. We went to some Ancient Greek ruins and saw lots of old columns. We saw a tall castle tower soon after. Then we went to another castle and we were fascinated at the size of the doors. We went to the ruins of the shrine of Apollo and temple of asklepios.

Port Douglas adventure

In Port Douglas, we went to the wildlife centre. It was great because we fed animals.  I made lots of animal friends. We went to Cooktown, which was where Captain Cook’s ship Endeavour (which means try) crashed.  finch Bay was a beautiful beach with big rocks.

Snowy Mountain

I can see

Freezing rock blueing my hands

Whiteness only on the lands

Snowy particles falling in the air

Landing softly everywhere

I can feel

Soggy snow falling in a mound

A huge freezing mountain roamed by a hound

Silky strips of moonlight shining on the snow

The mountain is freezing no matter how low

I can hear

The dim crunch of ice-coated feet

The crunch of the people in the other mountain fleet

Life is like survival just here

No food, wine and definitely no beer!

Here everyone strives to be alive

Everything is frozen on this Snowy Mountain

Happy Birthday Tana

So, here’s an unusual birthday present from your family.  We know you love to read, and we recently learnt that you love to write too. And fast and interestingly.  And we thought this would be some kind of opportunity to explore that wonderful imagination of yours.  You are allowed to write here whenever you want.  We encourage you to be diverse, to express yourself and to learn how to optimise wordpress and its potential.

You have your very own domain name now;  www.tanahn.com ! can you believe it? It is also www.tanahn.wordpress.com – just in case we forget to pay the bill next year.

You can upload photos, embed videos, design little questionnaires, talk about things that interest you and your friends – and who knows, maybe someday someone other than your family may even read it!

We’re giving this to you because in this fast-changing world, a 9-year old ought to be able to write a blog and build a basic website.  By the time you’re an adult, blogs may not exist and websites will be built by 5-year olds.  You’ll also learn that what you do and say online is public, it is available to the world indefinitely, so take care – think about who you may be and what you may do in twenty years – have respect, both for yourself and for others.  Be, online, the person you want to share with the world, friends and friends-to-be.

love from Mummy, Daddy and Kian.
